Android marketshare is approaching the two-thirds marker– a significant majority milestone in any case.
The Android ecosystem does suffer from segmentation, but the platform as a whole has offered to consumers options from low-end smart phones to ultra high-end phones like the Galaxy S3.
The iOS marketshare is nothing to scoff at though. It’s sitting at around one-fiftth, and still remains the most profitable of the given options. These numbers are likely to go in favor of iOS with the release of the iPhone 5 later this year, as many are probably holding out for an upgrade. I’m probably going to use my iPhone 3GS until it falls apart. So far, it’s hanging in there.
